Time in the Psyche

Take a analog ticking clock, like the one you would find in an average office or household and place it a little over head-height and place it on the wall and down the hall so that you can still see the ticking hand from your distance.

Start thinking logically about whatever you want and go through your thoughts. Not too fast and not too slow, but fast if you can handle it.

Keep thinking and walk towards the clock while always keeping your eye on the ticking hand needle and slowly walk towards the clock and you’ll see that as the tick becomes more apparent your thinking will slow down.

But you have to keep your eye on the ticking needle as it goes around the circumference of the clock on the wall. Now walk all the way up to the clock and stare at the tick; your thinking will almost come to a halt and it’s just perception at that moment in time.

Your thinking slows down because the mind can only concentrate on one instance at a time. For example, it can’t double think. You can’t think of two things at the same time and examine them simultaneously. You can multi-task physically and that is about all which includes the concentration on the task. This is also one by one.

This is a fundamental phenomenon of the conscious mind because it is behaving as to the construct of the thinking process of the human mind. It is built that way and there is no way of getting around it.

This is characteristic of the mind and how it works without a single flaw in these respects unless one overcomes it somehow and I don’t know how?

In order to double think you would have to be two places at the same time which is possible however the experience of self or perception of both places at the exact same time I don’t believe can be. You can oscillatee between the two and back and forth. But to be there at the same time I don’t think you can because you would have two different versions of existence and I think that the definition of existence is One and being two places at once violates this working of the brain.

Therefore existence constitutes one thing and that is all the worlds we know. Your thinking slows down because as you approach the clock you are concentrating on the tick. When you’re at a distance from the clock you can’t see the second hand that well, it could be blurred if your too far away which is okay, but the closer you get and the tick becomes apparent then your thinking or mind focuses on the tick and takes away from your initial thoughts. Your mind can only focus on one thing at a time, not two, or three, no matter what you do.
