Everything you do in life is recorded in space-time (if you believe in parallel universes). The world keeps a record of everything so you better watch what you do or you could affect your future because what you do now determines who you will be later in life to a great degree and also in the next world if you could imagine yourself as a better human in a better “Earth” with better things provided you do the right things in the here and now. I get these concepts from the fundamentals of Scientology.
If you work hard then you should reap some rewards and I’m not talking just in terms of economics. If you have good actions then this should excel your future here both in this world (the next world being one of many parallel universes) and the next. It’s the same thing as what you do now will determine your place later. You will be accountable for your actions so you better be fearful of this; and, by “accountable” I mean responsibility. A lot of people would attribute this kind of reasoning to the likings of Indian Karma, but it is different. Karma is just a colour where as what I am talking about is tied up in one whole huge schema that’s never ending. The universe is responsible about how it brings up the sun every day and how it keeps the sun together and everything else. Nothing is out of control like a computer. And one of the main functions of computers and needless to say humans is to record actions for past history and future calculations. So you could go to the past and predict the future with good certainty.
Reality is very complex (in terms of schemes and recurrence (Bernard Lonergan) ) and we are not even at the tip of the iceberg in this time right now. But it is great. There will be great things to explore as we advance and progress. If we are the only living things in this Universe then it “would be an awful waste of space” (Foster, “Contact”).
This is not karma. I do not believe in karma because it doesn’t work. The only way Karma works is if it witnessed by a progression of conscious beings; namely, people.
I’ve tried to be the best person I could be and no one seems to care. No one cares. In this sense my karma is either bad or that I am wrong and it is senseless. But by being recorded in space-time and knowing that should make you a better person because it is the powers of the world that I am talking about and not something made up by a people like karma.
Do good things and good things should come back in return. Do good things like setup a hotel in the middle of the desert and if you are responsible with it then people should traverse the place. It’s responsibility that is the discovery here which has been debated by many thinkers so I’m just going to assume that the concept exists and we understand it very well in our minds. So people have to see the hotel and that it is good and another person sets up another good building where it is noticeable to the first and so on and so forth. This is the only way that I understand Karma. And if it is rudimentary then I am sorry and will say that I will not go in that direction. But how do we know that the universe records? Well karma as I described it works that way it got recorded in our minds and one hotel turned into few more places that were good and soon it becomes Las Vegas (for whatever that’s worth).
Anyway if you need to do something in secret then don’t do it (it’s a sin). Without any secrets you become clear and this should empower you. This is not religion and not really science, but more scientific then anything else because it involves some logical thinking which compels you to act logically and methodically.
I’m counting on the complexities of space-time and its rules that this recordation takes place. But think for a moment; you’re going to be this great person and when you pass it is all going to be for nothing; I don’t think so if you believe in a soul. Depending on what you do and how much you know you will graduate into a better form. So this should give you reason enough to pursue the best things in life such as striving for excellence. For example, a life without crime, dishonesty, deception, etc. Be good and you will be powerful. A powerful spirit that never dies but is always graduating and moving forward and being reincarnated.
